I’ve always wanted to be good in drawing. But then, I don’t know, I guess I’m good in something else. Art and I don’t really click. But I haven’t stopped trying, I mean, I stopped for a while, and then I gained interest again. And that’s why I recently bought a how-to-draw book.
I’ve been buying a lot of how-to-draw books since highschool because I really want to learn how to draw, but none really helped me cause I can’t really absorb anything, cause everything’s so complicated. And that’s why I bought Sachiko Umoto’s Illustration School: Let’s Draw Happy People, because it doesn’t really seem to be complicated.
It shows pretty much how to draw simple things, in this book, it shows how to draw people, not the very detailed, realistic kind. Illustrating is not just about capturing the details, and being all realistic, it’s also about actually enjoying it, no matter how good, or not-so-good you are.
aaand, here’s my take on drawing:
eheh. I’m still a long way to go from being good at drawing but as Sachiko Umoto said, “Work at your own pace, when you want, where you want.”
I will continue on drawing Sachiko Umoto style, and hopefully in the future, I get to have my own style!
